Getting Started

The Lifelong Learning Check-In app makes it simple to check into events by scanning QR codes. Follow these steps to get started:

Open the app and navigate to the Settings screen (tap the gear icon).
Enter the check-in URL provided by your event organizer in the Settings View.
Save your settings and return to the main screen.
Scan a QR code at your event to check in automatically.

That's it! Once you've configured the URL, you're ready to scan and check in.

How It Works

The app uses your device's camera to scan QR codes at Lifelong Learning events. Here's what happens:

When you scan a QR code, the app reads the encoded information
It combines this with the URL you configured in Settings
The app sends your check-in request to the event system
You'll receive confirmation that you've been checked in

Privacy: The app only uses your camera to scan QR codes. No photos are stored or transmitted.

Troubleshooting

Camera Permission Required

The app needs camera access to scan QR codes. If you don't see the camera view:

Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera
Find "Lifelong Learning Check-In" and enable camera access

QR Code Won't Scan

If you're having trouble scanning:

Make sure the QR code is well-lit and not damaged
Hold your device steady and position the QR code within the camera frame
Try moving closer or farther away from the code

Check-In Failed

If the check-in doesn't go through:

Verify the URL in Settings is correct (check with your event organizer)
Make sure you have an active internet connection
Confirm you're scanning the correct QR code for your event
